also Rosa Menkman has made some VR Glitch installations over the past few
years.
*Gaming Essays on Algorithmic Culture* by Alexander Galloway may also be
of interest to you, particularly the essays "Origins of the First Person
Shooter" which traces moments in film history which foresee elements of FPS
aesthetic (going back to the 1920s) and "Countergaming" which details
artistic appropriations of video game technology.
