You may already be familiar with these, but as a fan of the music and era I 
thought I would throw them out there...
For concert/gig footage, you might want to look at  "We Jam Econo: The Story of 
the Minutemen" as a potential source.  It has some great live footage of the 
Minutemen, who as you most likely know used several Pettibon pieces in their 
album art.  It was released by Plexifilm.  There might even be some brief 
discussion of Pettibon in there.

For text, I would also recommend the book "Our Band Could be Your Life" by 
Michael Azerrad.  It features almost all of the bands you mentioned.  It also 
discusses Pettibon and his relationship (brother) to Greg Ginn of Black Flag and 
the SST label.

In-depth, and regarding the 1978-1986 California Punk/Hardcore era, here is what 
I'm looking for: 
a) Concert + Gig Footage: (EXAMPLES: Sin 34, Black Flag, Minutemen, The Germs, 
Dead Kennedy's, Middle Class, Decedents, etc.)
b) Short/Feature Films + Filmmakers
c) Articles + Written Words
d) Current Distributors
The media should be consistent with the early California Punk/Hardcore Scene. 
You can see from the list below, it's a mix of genres and possibilities. Some 
are difficult to get a hold of due to being out of print or having no 
distribution. The official exhibition is Raymond Pettibon: The Punk Years 
1978-1986 and it will be November 13, 2010-January 2, 2011.
