You can set a mail rule to send messages to the trash from certain  
people.

That's called kill-filing them.

It is enjoyable, if rude, then to reply to the list, quoting the "last  
straw" from the person you are filtering.  After the short quote, you  
write:

*PLONK*

Which is the sound of that person falling into your killfile.

Very enjoyable indeed.
