I suggest that the film Struggle of the Meat by Alice Ann Parker  
Severson  might be appropriate for your study.

Struggle of the Meat was based on a 39-40 frame unit-- this unit  
corresponded to the length of the sound loop "the struggle of the  
meat."  A complete description by the maker appeared in Canyon  
Cinemanews #75-3. She appropriated footage from the Royal Belgain  
Film Museum.
