Don't know if this would help, but what about Vimeo?

Subject: [Frameworks] rudimentary question about file compression

Dear Frameworkers,

I'm working on some subtitles for (again) some Japanese experimental films. The
person I'm working with is not local and we're trying to find a means to send
back and forth low resolution copies of the films (basically DVD files) so that
we can confirm the subtitle placement is accurate. These are lengthy so it
seems that youtube and "sendthisfile" won't work, unless we can somehow compress
the files in the latter case.

Does anyone have some good recommendations here for compressing files so they
can be either emailed or transferred somehow through the cloud? I apologize for
a question that appears more of an IT question than a film question, but since
it's in the service of the latter, I thought there might be some film-specific
recommendations for data transfer here.

Yours most sincerely,
Jonathan M Hall
