[Frameworks] copying vinyl

Frameworkers,
A pedestrian question. I want to copy my vinyl collection to CD using Nero or Audacity on a PC. I did it many years ago and have forgotten how to digitize the tracks. Do those programs have a capture function built in, or do I use other software?  I have a standalone a/d converter if that will help.
