Esperanza,

The part you are looking for is called a "pressure plate."

As for replacing this with a super 16 gate, it is possible, but you'd likely be looking for someone to modify a regular gate for you, as Eiki wouldn't have made this variation. It's doable, but then you'll also want to reposition the lamp so that it is centered for the new gate.
