Sarcasm, I'm sympathetic. In my personal experience on this list, it is certainly the case that one Cari Machet has little or no ability to grasp it, especially when I'm the one employing it. Which is why I wrote my earlier response with complete sincerity and pointed out that Mason had just been trying to be polite. [TRUE]

(By the way, the fact that he is Yale '15 means that indeed he is not yet even arrived on campus as a freshman and thus does not have instant access to all the imagined wonders of that Ivy League institution--but simple reality checks are not Cari's strong suite---ATTENTION HEAVY SARCASM!!!)---{now don't take offense, Cari, I'm just saying....have a sense of humor, or empathy, or reality--hey folks it's always fun to scold someone you don't know and have never met, isn't it?....)

OH, BTW, in the previous paragraph, "i was being sardonic" which is a free pass that lets me be an asshole.

I do agree with Jonathan Walley about summer flare-ups and flame wars--usually it seem like this happens in August when reasonable people in the Northern Hemisphere are on vacation if they can afford it, and the bored and desperate get to practice Silly Season verbal aerobics. And I wonder if Tom Whiteside will have already deleted this or if he might just pry it open enough to take a quick look.

Ah, now that I've wasted enough time to feel slightly guilty, I can get back to having to deal with an unpleasant run-in with an editor, and that second cup of coffee also helped.

But, most of us do have a certain limit to our inboxes, whatever ISP we use--10 MB seems common--so sending a 3.3 MB PDF file does help block it up. Get sent three of those in an hour and your box is choked. And indeed, as Kenneth Wood observes, there is a well known, well documented, and well researched problem with email communication, which is one reason emoticons were developed many years ago. ;-)

None of this phases the Queen of Me, Me, Me.

Just saying...have a sense of humor....but, don't worry about "dumbing down"...most readers already think yer dumb enough

(high five, now THAT was rilly rilly MEAN!)

Chuck Kleinhans (keep it coming! enjoy your symptom!)...boy, I really don't want to have to deal with this editor.....
