[Frameworks] Kickstarter on Framewoks - Thoughts?

I want to take a general survey (meaning ALL opinions welcome) of feelings towards the posting of Kickstarter (and any other funding initiatives, for that matter) being posted to this listserv. How/when do you think it's appropriate? What sort of project-based specific circumstances would tip the scales in one direction or the other? I consider these questions open ended, of course.
