The Festival du nouveau cinéma is committed to the exploration and
development of new practices in cinema and new media. It is a premiere
showcase for original and brand-new works, particularly in the fields of
independent cinema and digital creation.*

*FNC Lab : Performance / Installations / Experimental Films / Crossmedia
projects*
Wide-ranging works of experimentation at the crossroads of cinema, visual
arts and new technology. A laboratory that pushes beyond traditional
narrative and aesthetic forms in a program spanning films, installations,

Regulations & Terms of participation:
*



*FILMS*

- Only works produced after January 1st, 2010 and not previously shown in
the province of Québec are eligible.
- All selected entries must be in their original language and subtitled in
French (preferably) or in English.

*The CROSSMEDIA PROJECTS, PERFORMANCES & INSTALLATIONS are not concerned by
the production deadline.*


*ENTRY PROCEDURES*

Application deadline: June 30, 2011.
Applicants will be informed of the results by email mid-september.

Each film entry must include:
- The completed entry form (online form);
- The director's biography / filmography;
- A DVD copy of the work;
- Payment of the entry fee.

Each crossmedia project / performance / installation entry must include :
- The artist’s biography;
- The description of the project / performance / installation (visual
elements are strongly recommended) ;
- Website (optional).


N.B. Submissions will not be returned.


*ENTRY FEE*

FILMS:
- before June 15th 2011 : 35$
- after June 15th 2011 : 40$
*NO ENTRY FEE for crossmedia, performance and installation projects.*


*SHIPPING AND INSURANCE*

Participants must pay the shipping, customs and insurance costs (including
return costs) for their selected work. The FNC covers insurance costs only
between the time of reception of the material and the time of its return to
the participant. In the event of loss or damage during this specific period,
the FNC is responsible for the replacement cost of the material only. On the
pro-forma invoice, indicate only the replacement value of the tape or film
stock to avoid problems clearing customs.

On the package, make sure to indicate:
FILM-VIDEO FOR FESTIVAL PURPOSES ONLY - NO COMMERCIAL VALUE


N.B. The FNC organizers have final authority on all matters not specifically
covered by these regulations.
