[Frameworks] Cleaning a Scoopic

Hey all,

I took the pressure plate off my Scoopic today to clean the gate and saw
that the piece of glass beyond the shutter (the prism?) is filthy.

It's been two years since I had it cleaned and greased.

How bad of an idea would it be to try and clean the camera myself? Just as
a temporary solution before I can send it in to get serviced again?
