** Black and White Super 8 Filmmaking Workshop!
------------------------------------------------------------

** Black and White Super 8 weekend workshop! Deadline approaching!
------------------------------------------------------------

**
Learn to shoot and hand-process your very own black and white Super 8 film in this excellent 2-day workshop on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th February, run by Cherry Kino and hosted by Smiths Row Gallery in Bury St. Edmunds, Cambridgeshire. This is a fun and intensive workshop that is perfect for complete beginners as well as those who are already familiar with Super 8, with a lot of information packed into the 2 days that you might not come across otherwise. Learn how to operate a variety of different cameras, from budget up to top-end, learn about which film stocks are available and what they do, and put some tips and tricks into action as you shoot your film. Not only will you shoot your film yourself, you'll also hand-process it, in a method that, once learned, is easy to recreate at home in your bathroom! Cherry Kino aims to demystify analogue film processes, and to reveal just how accessible Super 8 can be. We will also cover home telecine (digitisation) methods, so you
can continue to work on your film using digital programs. The workshop will also cover alternative processing methods, such as using coffee as a developer, and camera-less filmmaking!

Super 8 is such a beautiful film format - shooting real film is not just for the rich and famous, it's accessible, economical, and open to anyone and everyone! The workshop will take place in Bury St. Edmunds, a stone's throw from Smiths Row Gallery.

The booking deadline is this Monday 11th Feb at 5pm, and there are only 3 places left, so book as soon as possible to get yourself a place!

The workshop has a maximum number of 8 participants so you get a really intensive workshop, over 2 days (Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th February, 11am - 5pm both days), and the cost of the workshop is £100 which includes all materials (including one whole film cartridge per person), and tea, coffee and biscuits of course! There will also be a really nice evening screening event for all the workshop participants from 7pm on Sunday evening at Abbeygate Picture House, where we will show the films made on the workshop alongside other Super 8 works collected by the Cambridge Super 8 Group - optional but recommended!

------------------------------------------------------------

** Booking is by contacting Smiths Row by telephone on: (+44) 01284 762 081 - deadline is Monday 11th Feb (this coming Monday!)
------------------------------------------------------------

Hope to see you then!
