It's a projector-based system, and HD is the highest resolution.

If you want to see Kinetta 3.3K scans of super-8 footage on a big screen go see OUR NIXON at the IFC.  All of the Super-8 was scanned on a Kinetta -- which is about 60% of the movie.  Note that some of it was scanned from bad Super-8 contact prints as that was all that was available.  Also note that HR Haldeman was not very good at shooting!  But despite that, the S8 looks good on  big screen.
