The University of Central Floridas School of Visual Arts and Design seeks an instructor or lecturer for teaching in film with experience in the development of narrative and experimental film and an interest in exploring the intersection of these two modes in theory and practice. The successful applicants principal duties are in teaching. Subjects will include foundational courses in production, cinematic expression, foundations of story, and short script development. Upper division courses as well as graduate courses in narrative or experimental film will be assigned. Participation in graduate thesis committees will be assigned. The candidate will play a significant role in the development of undergraduate and graduate courses in experimental and narrative film as well as cross disciplinary efforts creatively bridging digital media developments in film and the fine arts. We expect the successful candidate to demonstrate a strong commitment to currency in the study of emerging film business models, new modes of distribution and the practical applications derived from this study.
