Matt Hinton's documentary Awake My Soul is about southern shape note
singing, specifically from the Sacred Harp book. There are many
participant-made videos of shape note singing on Youtube, and there you can
also find Alan Lomax's 1982 footage of a southern shape note singing
convention.
