[Frameworks] Benet Rossell - an obituary

Benet Rossell, also known as Beni, and once signing one of his films as
Beni Rusell, has left us and just a few on this list will know about.

Aside from being a key reference in the milieu of
alternative/independent/avantgarde film practices in/off Spain in the
60s-70s, when he was living in Paris, his work was later discovered and
appreciated by Dominique Noguez and then included in the main anthologies
about "cinéma différent" in France.

In 1990 he also had an exhibition at Anthology Film Archives, including the
screening of his major (but always short) films and a show of his
"micrographies" or drawings, objects, paintings, etc. peopled by miniature
calligraphic signs.

Then he went back to his native Caralonia and began to work increasingly on
video, even to produce, I guess, one piece per month.

Aside from the films properly said, he did as well several film-objects and
vision-machines.
