Dennis posted about a screening series in Boston, but I read Ben's original
post as regarding exhibitions of moving images (installed) in art museums.
Here are a few CVM has provided films/digital versions for, though the
first is filmmaker-specific based on his films. Others are broader.

*Oskar Fischinger: Experiments in Cinematic Abstraction*, at EYE
Filmmuseum, Amsterdam, 2012-2013,
Co-organized by Center for Visual Music and EYE Filmmuseum. See
accompanying book, distributed by Thames & Hudson.

*See this Sound: Promises in Sound and Vision*, Lentos Kunstmuseum, Linz,
Austria, 2009-2010 - might meet your criteria, see the ex cat

*Abstract Cinema*, MOCA Miami, 2009

The 2005 *Visual Music* exhibition at MOCA LA and Hirshhorn, Washington DC,
has been mentioned; moving images were a large part of the theme, though
there were many paintings and other works besides film. Here's a 2005 page
about the moving images in that exhibition: http://www.
centerforvisualmusic.org/VMFilms.htm

of course there's been a host of smaller exhibitions at galleries and
smaller museums, a few we participated: *The Unfinished Film,* 2011, at
Gladstone Gallery, NY, curated by Thomas Beard; Cadences of Line and Color,
Reykjavik Art Museum, 2014.

links to some of these other exhibitions on CVM's events & exhibitions page,

There's also the blockbuster *Watch Me Move: The Animation Show*
originating at Barbican London in 2011, which toured Asia; and numerous
small shows based on visual music and/or animation

Older exhibition (we did not provide films):* Film as Film, Formal
Experiment in Film 1910-1975*, Hayward Gallery, London, 1979
