Hi Alisa,

I have no experience travelling to Japan, but I have flown to Europe and
the USA from Canada with a bolex and accessories with no Carnet and no
problems.

I have also travelled to Europe with digital film equipment with a Carnet -
once with no problems, and once with a bit of trouble which we managed to
sort out.

I would definitely keep your bolex and anything that is not on the Cartet
separate from the equipment you have on the Carnet otherwise there could be
confusion and problems with the customs.

Good luck!

Erin
