I showed a compilation of new American films (from the coop) including Sodom. This was a public event and the cinema was run by the city council and they were not asking to see uncertificated films since the debacle of banning Genet’s Chant d’Amour. Sodom came on last before the interval and the ice-cream seller was making her way in at the moment of the auto-fellatio (Busby Berkley style) was on the screen. I was a little worried that there would be complaints.  The ice-cream woman spoke to me and said “Oo I’ve not seen anything like that before”
It was all ok.
