I am seeking funds to replace my 16mm Bolex Rex 3 that is beyond repair. It was sent to Pro Cam in Prescot AZ and was informed that the camera was not worth repairing. I bought the Rex 3 from a retired utility worker in Chicago around 1974. The repair man only used it once to film his daughter’s wedding. He asked me to take good care of it, and I had until recently when I noticed the take up spool was not functioning. Thinking that it would be an easy repair however after examination by a specialist he found that there was too much corrosion to fix it. With this camera created more than 30 films.
I shoot only film in 16mm and not digital. For me celluloid is the only way I capture the images that I film. The 16mm Bolex is the best artist tool for me to use.
Currently I am searching for a good replacement and found that the Bolex Rx4 or Rx 5 would be the solution. The funds collected here will be used for a purchase of one of the above.
All donors will be given credit on a film in progress shot with high contrast black and white film. No working title as of today.
Thank you for your donation.
