Brief 
If you’re a current university/college student or recent graduate, consider submitting to this year's festival. For faculty and staff, please post and/or share with your students and colleagues. Watch the social media pages for festival news and updates. 

Updates
Update #1: Extended Deadline is April 17th.
Update #2: FAU students, current and alumni, can still submit for free. Code no longer needed. 
Update #3: All fees waived for other university and college film submissions thru April 17th. No code needed. 
Update #4: No waiver code needed for Frameworks student subscribers.
Update #5: FFF partners with Videomaker. (See below.)

Call For Films
This year’s 8th Annual Flamingo Film Festival submission portal is still open via FilmFreeway <https://filmfreeway.com/FlamingoFilmFest>. The EXTENDED DEADLINE is April 17th and due to COVID-19 the screening is scheduled to begin at 1PM, April 24th online and via Twitch <https://www.twitch.tv/flamingofilmfestival>. Film programming 
start, end, and total run-times are subject to change. Selected films to be determined and will be notified on, or by, April 19th. The festival is a competitive and juried exhibition and therefore only the selected films will screen. Please review the festival's terms 
and conditions for additional info. 

Complimentary Videomaker Subscription
We're partnering with Videomaker <https://www.videomaker.com/> to provide complimentary digital magazine subscriptions to all student filmmakers submitting to the 2021 Flamingo Film Festival. This $30 value includes 6 digital editions of Videomaker’s bi-monthly magazine. What is Videomaker?

you submit a film to FFF21, Videomaker will contact you sometime after the submission deadline with instructions on how to activate your complimentary subscription. You can opt-out at any time.

Mandate
The Flamingo Film Festival is dedicated to exhibiting the international short films and videos produced by student filmmakers. For the past seven installments, this event, held in sunny South Florida, has honored outstanding dramatic, documentary, experimental, 
music video, and animated projects created by students while enrolled in a college, university, or other post-secondary institution. It's the goal of the Flamingo Film Festival to continue to encourage student creativity, recognizing achievements in film and video. 
The festival is part of the Exhibition Practices in Film, Video & New Media course (RTV 3229 + FIL 6409) offered this semester. 

Awards
The Flamingo Film Festival reserves the right and has the discretion to change the submission category for a film. The festival reserves the right and has the discretion to add award categories and suspend/eliminate award categories. There are no cash awards.
Core: Best Overall, Best Documentary, Best Experimental, Best Fiction, Best Animation, Best Music Video
Craft: Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Sound Design, Best Practical Effects, Best Visual Effects, Best Art Direction
