Happy Christmas and happy Jonas Mekas' 99th birthday! To celebrate we have released WALDEN on the Re:Voir online streaming app. The film is his first long-form diary film, an epic portrait of the avant-garde New York scene 1964-1968. The 3-hour film features his friends Andy Warhol, John Lennon, Yoko Ono, The Velvet Underground, Allen Ginsberg, Stan Brakhage, Tony Conrad, Shirley Clarke, and many others. It was the first film by Jonas Mekas that I published, back in 1997.

The app can be downloaded from the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/re-voir-online/id1545131544. When subscribing, the first 30 days are free (until January 1st, then the promo will be for 8 days). 200 films are online with two hours of new films added weekly. The subscription allows unlimited viewing for $10/month.

And with his 99th birthday, Jonas' centennial year begins! There will be screenings and exhibitions around the world. To commemorate, Re:Voir will be uploading his massive 365 DAY PROJECT throughout 2022. The work was produced day by day Jan 1 – Dec 31,  2007. Each short film, one to twenty minutes in length, formed a one-year film diary. This year in the life of Jonas Mekas will be recreated day by day on the Re:Voir app starting January 1st, 2022.
