Please see the email below announcing the 2021 Mimesis Documentary Festival
program. We are thrilled and proud to be able to present such a diverse and
exciting group of artists and documentary projects across multiple venues
in our community.
Tickets are not yet available but will be soon. As soon as we have more
information, we will let you know!
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you might have, and
we look forward to seeing you at MDF2021 (either in-person or virtually -
but ideally in-person!).

for the 2021 Mimesis Documentary Festival, welcoming Featured Artist Pedro
Costa! With 22 blocks of nonfiction programming and installation-based
documentary by more than 80 artists from around the world, the second
annual Mimesis Documentary Festival comes to the Dairy Arts Center

The festival kicks off with an opening night celebration

with Brooklyn-based artist and poet Lynne Sachs screening her recent
work, *Film
About a Father Who* (2020), a meditation on masculinity and fatherhood
assembled from three decades of film and images of her own father. Lynne
returns on August 5 for an artist-focused workshop

exploring her signature medium, the "film-poem," with participants looking
to everyday images and their lives to construct individual film-poems. In
addition to screenings and workshops, 2021 Featured Artist Pedro Costa
joins us on August 7 for an editing masterclass

based on a new restoration of *Where Does Your Hidden Smile Lie?*, the
landmark 2001 film that Costa has described as both his first comedy and
