Hello,

We are currently making changes in our studio which require some of our
16mm film equipment to find a new home. The items are as follows.

Steenbeck model 1901 six-plate flatbed, including several boxes of spare
parts, as well as original manuals and schematics.

MTM D-106SW/DCS 16mm magnetic film recorder, including several boxes of
spare parts, a stack of unused raw 16mm magnetic stock, degausser, and
original manuals and schematics.

This would be a donation. In return, we ask that all costs in transporting
the equipment (crating and freighting, or local pick-up) be handled by the
recipient of this donation. If the recipient is a non-profit organization
or university, we ask for a letter acknowledging the donation.

The Steenbeck is a late-model 1901 (early 1990s) machine, and was working
well up until recently. The main drive motor bearings appear to have seized
up. It’s a mechanical repair that does require some know-how. Dwight Cody
on the east coast will likely be able to walk someone through the repair
process. Currently, we cannot do a repair, as our time is now extremely
limited. This machine was purchased 15 years ago from the original owner.

The MTM was working well the last time it was run. At the time of its
primary use, it had regular service by a trained technician. As noted
above, I have a cache of small and large parts for both the Steenbeck and
the MTM. In addition to original manuals and schematics for both the
Steenbeck and MTM. The MTM was also acquired 15 years ago from the original
owner.

Ideally, both items would go to a single recipient, but we’re open to
donating the Steenbeck and MTM to separate parties if it means saving them
from the metal scrapper. At this time, we will not separate spare parts
from the machines. Spares parts will go with machines only.

If interested, please contact me off list. We are currently working to find
a local home (Portland, Oregon or NW region) for these items, however, we
will consider working with archives, schools and facilities outside the
region if a good home cannot be found nearby.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Alain LeTourneau
