 Center for Visual Music (CVM) has two programs coming up at ACMI Melbourne
in their cinema (physical events) -

*Optical Poetry, Oskar Fischinger Retrospective* on June 28 (digital
version), 6:30 pm
This is the new HD digital version of CVM’s Fischinger Retrospective
programme featuring his classic visual music films, many transferred from
restored 35mm prints.

*Oskar's Legacy: Filmmakers Influenced by Fischinger* on July 5 (digital)

This program includes films by Mary Ellen Bute, Jordan Belson, Norman
McLaren, Jules Engel and a number of contemporary filmmakers, spanning
decades of influence. Newer films include work by Baerbel Neubauer, Jeff
Scher, Steve Woloshen, Robert Seidel, Oerd van Cuijlenborg, Michel Gage,
Kristian Pedersen, Scott Draves, Bret Battey, Paul Fletcher, Steve Wood.
Introduced by Melbourne filmmaker/educator and CVM member Paul Fletcher.

These programs accompany our ongoing installation of *Oskar Fischinger,
Raumlichtkunst* (1926/2012) in the museum. From ACMI's site:   "Presenting
a reconstruction of one of the first multimedia projections ever made:
Oskar Fischinger’s *Raumlichtkunst*, first shown in Germany in 1926, and
restored and reconstructed by the Center for Visual Music (CVM) in Los
Angeles." On view daily, looped, during museum hours.

*Raumlichtkunst* has previously been on view at the Whitney Museum of Art
(New York), Tate Modern (London), Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Queensland Art
Gallery (Brisbane), Weinstein Gallery SoMA (San Francisco), and Len Lye
Centre (New Zealand).
