The 5200 is also a filled epoxy much like Marine JB Weld.  It would do very 
well.  There are a number of similar epoxy products for that market, mostly 
intended for fibreglass in high-corrosion environments.  The only reason I
would use the Marine JB Weld over 3M 5200 is that the Marine JB Weld is
likely available at your corner hardware store and the 5200 might be harder to
get.
