Hello All,

I just got this email that I wanted to share. This is a great opportunity

After the closure of our historic E 4th St space in 2013, Millennium
persevered for close to a decade doing pop-up screening, online
presentations and other remote programs. Finally a chance to offer original
programming in our own space presented itself to us in June 2022, at *167
Wilson Ave in Brooklyn*. Over the past 15 months, we've been able to
platform hundreds of films, create a point for community gathering and
equipment access, provide instructional workshops, and residency and
installation opportunities for mixing media and further experimentation.

Up until now, our occupation of that space has been on a sublet basis. *This
is changing, as we now have an opportunity to take over the long-term 10
year lease on the space (with 8 years remaining). *With your help, we can
ensure that we will be here to offer programming, open screenings,
filmmaking workshops, low cost equipment access and a space for us all to
create and exhibit our personal moving image artwork for a long time to
come.

*A long term lease on the space ensures our security, protects us against
sudden rent hikes, increases our eligibility for grant support from the
city and state, and frees up our energies to focus on improving our quality
of presentation and support of for artists.*

In order to achieve this goal, we need to raise additional funds to meet
the costs of signing the lease. The funds break down as follows:

*$5000.00 - 2 months security deposit*
*$700.00 - Insurance*
*$1800.00 - personal costs incurred on the space owed to leaseholder*
*_________*
*$7500.00*

This amount is certainly more than we might typically expect to make in two
months, but by no means an overwhelming figure for a community that holds
together and supports each other.* If we can reach this small goal by
November 1st, it will ensure a home for personal cinema for years to come!*

*HOW CAN I SUPPORT MILLENNIUM?*

We are launching a GOFUNDME campaign to raise funds to bridge the gap
between our regular program income and the extra funds we will need to take
over the lease. To donate, it's as easy as visiting the link for the
campaign and clicking on

*If you have shown a film, attended a film or an opening, participated in a
workshop, borrowed equipment, or attended a discussion at Millennium
sometime in the past year, you must understand that this space belongs to
all of us. All we ask is a small 10-15 dollar donation, which from the
hands of many will go a very long way towards achieving our goal. WHAT IF
I'D LIKE TO OFFER CONTINUED SUPPORT BEYOND A ONE-TIME DONATION?*

Consider investing in a *Millennium Membership!* Membership is available at
three tiers, $80, $150, and $275/ a year. A membership entitles you to a *free
subscription to Millennium Film Journal, free equipment rentals, special,
free, or discounted tickets to some programming, and invites to special
events.* During this current fundraising season we will be expanding our
membership program, so stay on the lookout for updates. To purchase a
membership or get more information, visit

We are grateful for your support! Together we can make this home for
personal cinema secure for years to come!

My thanks,
Joe Wakeman
