K-3s in "good" condition act like they need a cleaning and lube. 🙂
The motor might actually make the thing more usable, as that spring wind is
super nasty. Or not.
Whatever sort of battery pack it came with, you'll be better off figuring
out how to provide the necessary voltage(s) from a diy external pack using
modern battery chemistry, e.g. rechargeable lithium cells, e.g. 18650 or
21700.
