If you don't have access to a tech, first case is to put a little bit of
light machine oil on anything that looks like a bushing... if there is a
shaft rotating around through a hole in a plate then put a drop of oil on
that plate. Don't remove plates, don't make any attempt to remove a spring
assembly. You will likely find some sort of arrangement to oil the
intermittent cam which is probably a felt pad held against the cam. Soak
that in light machine oil, then wait an hour and soak it again. It should
be thoroughly saturated with oil. Anything that looks like it had grease
on it, scrape the grease off and replace it with new grease. Ask your
local auto parts shop for white lithium grease and stay away from anything
marked "high pressure" which will contain sulfur that will damage bronze
and brass parts.
If you can find a manual for the camera it will likely make things easier.
But manuals for old double-8 cameras are likely not common...
