[Frameworks] seeking advice on shooting double exposures

Greetings all, 

I want to experiment with shooting double exposures on 16mm in my Bolex.  Seeking tips on how to approach it, what works and doesn’t work. 

I’ve been told to close down a stop (f8 to f5.6 e.g.) for each exposure so that there isn’t too much light.  

What kinds of values and compositions are most effective?  What else to think about?
