[Frameworks] Canon 814 autozoom electronic - fresh batteries, not running

Hey folks
I have two Canon Autozoom 814 Electronics & they've both developed the same problem:
fresh batteries, but zero reaction in the battery check window and not running at all.The battery compartments are clean, no corrosion.
Any tips?Thanks! Moira
