[Frameworks] Frameworks Digest, Vol 155, Issue 2

Ok, that is fun! I could fritter away a lot of time with this. I notice there is one hot pink small rectangle that once I moved it, the string instrument riff continued no matter what I did. When I refreshed the browser window it went silent. Also, when I refreshed the window, if first reverted to the pattern I found at the beginning and then shifted to the pattern that I’d made.

Questions: can two people play with this simultaneously from different devices? Does the pattern I made remain so that others can see it and continue messing with it? Are there other rectangles that play their sounds continuously or did I just stumble on the one I did? Or is the continuous play a glitch that you didn’t intend? Would it be possible to program it so that you could enlarge the rectangles, and maybe by enlarging them, their sounds increase in volume?

I like the idea that you could compose a sound track using something like this. Also, it reminds me of work that Scott Snibbe did in the 1990s with his Motion Phone, and some of the work Ben Kamen is doing in his iPad sound apps.

Lots of possibilities! Thanks for sharing!

Ruth
