[Frameworks] International Experimental Film Festival and Conference to be held in Hungary 2024

Hi all,

I am writing to let you know about our scientific and artistic grassroots
platform, called Celluloidra Revolverrel, which organizes it's first
International Experimental Film Festival and Conference in Hungary this
August.
The platform's main goal is to organise contemporary Hungarian experimental
filmmaking and to connect it with the international experimental scene.
The festival is listed on Filmfreeway, for which the links are attached
below.

Here are our entry categories for experimental filmmakers:


*biological and ecological processing based experimental cinema*the
controlled or uncontrolled manipulation of filmstrips with natural
materials and elements (rotting, burning, soaking, burying underground,
drying out on the sun etc.)


*chemical processing based experimental cinema*manipulation of filmstrips
by controlled chemical processes (acid corrosion, staining with household
substances etc.)


*direct experimental cinema*direct manipulation of filmstrips (painting,
glueing, scratching, collaging, drawing, laser manipulation etc.)


*absolute cinema*experimentation with the purely visual language of form,
light and movement


*found footage*experimenting with the ways of recontextualising found
material


*transmedial experimental cinema, video-, computer- and
newmedia-arts*experimentation
with free medium use, from analogue computer art and mixed media to
AI-based digital art and beyond


*expanded cinema*visual culture transcending the screen, from projection
performances and analogue labyrinths to any event-based mixed media
experimentation (entry with on-site performances only)

The submissons have a minimum entry fee, which is fully reinvested in the
operational management of the festival - which is managed and organsed
horizontally by hungarian experimental filmmakers and students.
