[Frameworks] OPEN CALL -- CFL Filmmakers 4 Gaza

Hi all,

I’m organizing a screening of work by Central Florida-based filmmakers to
raise funds for Healing our Homeland’s Gaza Relief Fund

HOH is a Palestinian women-led, grassroots movement of liberation and
healing with roots in Gaza and Orlando. Through the Gaza Relief Fund, HOH
purchases aid from within the Gaza Strip and distributes it directly to
Palestinian families every day. More info can be found here

The screening will occur the evening of Thursday, September 11 at Stardust
Video & Coffee in Winter Park, FL, and will be curated from an open call.
Funds for donation will be collected from submission fees ($2 or more) and
event admission ($5-10 sliding scale).

*RULES*


   - Filmmaker must currently reside in Central Florida (Brevard, Citrus,
   Hernando, Hillsborough, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, Pinellas,
   Polk, Seminole, Sumter, or Volusia County).
   - Work must be 10 minutes or less.
   - Work must be viewable via a public, unlisted, or password-protected
   link (Vimeo or YouTube). Ensure that your link is not set to "private".
   - Submission must include proof of donation (such as a screenshot)
to Healing
   Our Homeland's Gaza Relief Fund

of
   $2 or more. Instructions on how to submit proof further down on form.
   - You may submit multiple films, however each must be submitted on an
   individual form, and each must be accompanied by a separate donation.


*CRITERIA*

   - Preference will be given to work that engages with
   leftist/liberatory/anti-colonial themes/ideas, AND/OR deviates from
   conventions of narrative or documentary filmmaking.
   - Arab and BIPOC filmmakers are especially encouraged to submit.
   - Student work welcome!
   - No restrictions on when work was made, if it has screened in Orlando
   before etc.

   - *Monday, August 25*: Submissions close
   - *Monday, September 1*: Selected filmmakers notified
   - *Monday, Septmber 8*: Exhibition copies of films due
   - *Thursday, September 11*: Event date
