Filmos are awesome. It's actually a doable DIY project to get an old one
with a double-perf claw and remove one side so it'll take single-perf stock.
I have to guess the only (good?) reason folks take on the burden of taming
a K3 over a filmo is they need the zoom lens, the reflex finder, stepper
motor maybe... like the more recent inquiry about time-lapse with plant
growth.. Still, I cringe... (I only puttered with one many years ago, but
that was enough...)
I guess my defn. of "grungy" is more cosmetic -- an old filmo is grungy, my
1965 Chevy Nova was grungy, but it never let me down.
